Weekend with My Lil Man, Rylan

I haven't written anything in my blog since Thursday because I have been so busy with my Lil Man (Rylan); he is definitely the "light & heart of our life"! I can't even imagine how hard its gonna be in less than a month when they move to Arizona. It makes me tear-up to even think about it.

I've been busy taking care of him and of course playing and letting him get away with things that I probably didn't let my kids do!! Torrey is the only one who comments negatively about this but I tell him that its what grandparents do...........spoil the grandkids!!

Tobey is coming back from SC with her friend Jennifer tomorrow and I told her I would love to keep him until Wednesday. She says she will meet me halfway so I can get him back to her without driving the whole distance to her house. The way I have to go (NO interstates; all backroads) would take me between 3-4 hours, one way!!

I love keeping that sweet little boy! He is so much fun and not any trouble, well nothing like you would expect with a 2 year old! No terrible twos yet! He just makes me smile for no reason other than he just makes me happy! Guess I am finding out what being a grandparent is all about!

I got a few pictures this weekend which I am sure you have seen, they are at the top of this posting. I haven't figured out how to put pictures in the post along the way; the only way I know to do it is put them all at the top. I am trying a new layout so maybe I can get the last picture here at the bottom. Well it didn't work so all pics are gonna be at the top until I find the time to figure this out!

I will try to get some decent pictures of my Lil Man tomorrow to blog about tomorrow night! Oh one thing I wanted to say is that I am excited about taking Rylan with me and Tyler to UGA on Tuesday night. I'll get to show him off before they leave for Arizona and then who knows where!

Well its getting late and since I hadn't blogged in days I thought I had better write something tonight. I intended to write every night but now I realize that that is almost impossible because some nights I don't have anything to say and am too tired to try to think of something.

P.S. I got his Halloween PJs at Wal-Mart and I didn't want to get the all black ones because dog hairs so up so much so I liked these cute orange ones. Tobey says (and her friend Jenn agrees) that they are girlie pjs; oh well, he can wear them at Meme's house!

Tyler's Tuesday Nights = Ramsey Center UGA

Tyler & I spend our Tuesday night at UGA in Athens at the Ramsey Sports Center (at least that's what we called it until Tuesday night when I saw the name hanging over the entrance!).

Tyler has been going to a "Pediatric Motor & Development Clinic" there since he was about 3 yrs old. With Tyler turning 29 in two weeks, you can do the math and see for yourself that he's been going A LONG TIME (26 yrs)!!!

I intended to post this when we got home Tuesday night but I guess I was so tired that I forgot all about it!

My Furbabies Relaxing on the Back Porch

One morning a few weeks ago, I was out on my screened backporch drinking my coffee and checking emails on my laptop, when I caught this picture of ALL 3 of my precious furbabies! They were so relaxed, usually Faith is laid out on the floor too but she seemed to be "on watch" for critters in the back yard. Normally that is my Pookie's job! She is the smallest (longhair dapple doxie) but she takes the job of protecting our place more to heart than the other two do!

I didn't have much to talk about today so I thought of this picture on my iphone and decided it would be a good one to post tonight. I didn't do too much today but "chill out" at home. I did do 2 miles on the treadmill and then went to Winder to walk with my walking buddy, Marilyn. We ended up going 5 miles all over Winder. We usually start at the high school and tonight we walked to north Winder then turned and came to the high school and past it to Winder. We always have to make a "pit stop" at McDonalds then back to one last loop around the high school and the church.

Tonight was one of my favorite TV nights: The Amazing Race, Dexter & Mad Men. I like Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters too but I watch those online sometime during the week.

Exercise Report:
2 Miles on Treadmill at Home - 36 minutes
5 Miles walking/Winder - 1 hr 40 minutes

That's it for tonight; I keep forgetting to make pictures of things I see on my walks but I'll get around to that one day soon............IF I remember!! LOL

Red Barn Ramble 5K in Bold Springs

Today I went to a race close to home, it was over in Bold Springs at my friend, Clay Sims farm on highway 81. He has the most beautiful place over there with lots of red barns. That's why he named the race the Red Barn Ramble, it was obvious that he should name it that. This is the second year that Clay has held this race. He also had a spread of food that was amazing!!

Also in case you can't tell, he served "adult beverages" which in my case it was WINE for me!! In the picture my eyes were shut. I should have worn my sunglasses like Bill did.

Bill Chamblee is my good friend who lives in Anderson SC & travels down here to the North GA area every weekend to run races in the area. He asked me if I won a Red Barn birdhouse and I said "boohoo no I didn't" and he gave me his! He said it would just sit in his garage and he would never put it up so I was THRILLED to get one!! The second picture of course is my Red Barn birdhouse. They were specially handmade by Clay himself and painted by his partner in crime, Marion. They did a wonderful job and everyone loved the Red Barn birdhouses!

Tyler went with me to the race. I got him a chair under a shade tree and he stayed there the whole time I was out on the course (pastures). His incentive was FOOD; so after I finished he headed inside with me to find the crackers and cheese and chicken salad dip. He loved it and so did I! Then of course there was wine and beer, the wine was my choice!

Fun was had by all who attended. Mark showed up after he got off work at the Jewish Center in Atlanta. We chatted with Clay and made plans for next year's Red Barn Ramble!

Exercise Report:
3.1 miles at Red Barn Ramble = 52 minutes
2 miles general walking = 40 minutes
