Red Barn Ramble 5K in Bold Springs

Today I went to a race close to home, it was over in Bold Springs at my friend, Clay Sims farm on highway 81. He has the most beautiful place over there with lots of red barns. That's why he named the race the Red Barn Ramble, it was obvious that he should name it that. This is the second year that Clay has held this race. He also had a spread of food that was amazing!!

Also in case you can't tell, he served "adult beverages" which in my case it was WINE for me!! In the picture my eyes were shut. I should have worn my sunglasses like Bill did.

Bill Chamblee is my good friend who lives in Anderson SC & travels down here to the North GA area every weekend to run races in the area. He asked me if I won a Red Barn birdhouse and I said "boohoo no I didn't" and he gave me his! He said it would just sit in his garage and he would never put it up so I was THRILLED to get one!! The second picture of course is my Red Barn birdhouse. They were specially handmade by Clay himself and painted by his partner in crime, Marion. They did a wonderful job and everyone loved the Red Barn birdhouses!

Tyler went with me to the race. I got him a chair under a shade tree and he stayed there the whole time I was out on the course (pastures). His incentive was FOOD; so after I finished he headed inside with me to find the crackers and cheese and chicken salad dip. He loved it and so did I! Then of course there was wine and beer, the wine was my choice!

Fun was had by all who attended. Mark showed up after he got off work at the Jewish Center in Atlanta. We chatted with Clay and made plans for next year's Red Barn Ramble!

Exercise Report:
3.1 miles at Red Barn Ramble = 52 minutes
2 miles general walking = 40 minutes
