More Fall Trees......................

I am going to just post my collection of tree photos I took with my cell phone this Fall.............some I remember where I took them and some I don't or just remember the general vicinity! Hope whoever sees these enjoys their beauty as much as I did when i saw them and stopped to take their picture. God's beauty is everywhere; I have to remind myself sometimes but I do "try" to stop and "smell the roses" as the saying goes!

I hope people don't think I am crazy if they see me come by their house and pull over and take pictures of their trees!

This one was at the Parks' house too but taken a little further away to get both trees in the picture. I didn't get them at their peak so you can only imagine how much prettier they were when they were at their peak color!

This was taken on the street that runs beside the Parks house; I just happened to ride down that street and saw this one and of course I stopped and pulled over on the side of the road for a picture!

This pitiful picture was taken when the tree had lost half of its leaves. I see it every day coming past Brookfield Subd but I failed to get a picture when it was at its peak.

The pictures below were all taken in Winder near the Center where Tyler goes every Tues/Wed/Thursday. I saw these one morning in the bright sunshine and couldn't resist driving around stopping and snapping pictures.








Tyler & I had to make a trip to Emory Clinic down in Atlanta or Decatur or wherever they say that place is; its on Clifton Road, I am sure everyone knows where that is. Anyway, I came back by a friend's house on the way home and this tree was in her neighborhood and it was gorgous; caught my eye and I had to take two photos of it!


This is same tree but taken further away and trash can doesn't look as prominent in the picture!

Lanier Under the Lights 5K 11-13-10

Tonight (Saturday Nov. 13th), I went to Lake Lanier Islands to a race called,

"Lanier Under the Lights 5K"

I rode with my running buddy, Sharon Williams there. Then I met up with lots of my friends but I finally found Barbara Conley & Christine so we could all walk together. We had so much fun taking it easy & I enjoyed snapping pictures with my iPhone all along the way.

The sunset was absolutely beautiful over the lake! I was so lucky to get these good pictures of the sky and the lake.

I took several pictures and cropped them several times to try to get these two decent ones.

This was the view when we were about to cross over the bridge where I got the pictures of the sunset on the lake. The stone pillars on the sides are just amazing and so pretty! Really makes the bridge stunning!

Crossing over the bridge, sorry kinda blurry. It took me awhile to figure out that I have to stop & stand very still to get a decent picture.

This was so cute! The mother had decorated the jogging stroller with garland and lights!! I wish I were creative like that!

This was a carousel and was really quite pretty because it was going all around a stone wall. I didn't catch a horse lit up near me but you can see one on the other side. Its one of those things you have to see to "get it" I guess!

Now I'll just post the rest of the lights I saw all along the way! The colors and real beauty of the lights doesn't show up in the pictures. Maybe if I had used a digital camera but I just used my iphone to take the pictures. This iphone has ruined me because its so easy, I never use my regular digital camera anymore; I don't even know if it will still work!

Well that's it! The pictures are not in order but at least they are posted. I only got pictures of about half of the lights; there were so many and its a very pretty Christmas light show.
We took Rylan to see the lights last year riding in our van and he really loved it. I enjoyed seeing the lights this year via traveling on foot! Its the only way to get up close and personal!!

My Baby Boy's 21st Birthday - November 9th, 2010

Torrey my youngest, my baby boy turned 21 years old yesterday and he "thinks" he is a REAL grown up adult now!
He invited a bunch of his buddies/friends on Facebook to meet up with him to celebrate at Taco Mac at the Mall of Georgia. We had a pretty big crowd there, I didn't count them but as you can see here he had lots of his friends come to party with him there.
I told him you just don't wake up and are magically grown. I didn't admit to him that I still wonder what I am going to do when I grow up!

These are Torrey's co-workers and his boss, Brian (guy sitting down).

This was first time I have met his boss, Brian and he's a really nice fella. Torrey has only had nice things to say about him and now I see why.

These are Torrey's friends, buds and/or peeps; you know the young kids lingo for their friends.

These are guys at other end of table; but now that I look there's a few who were in both pictures. The guy on far right is John King, Torrey's ScoutMaster and other guy on right is Lee, Asst Scout Leader. Torrey also worked for John during summers with AA Drilling & Blasting; the same company Mark's worked for until the economy killed off construction jobs. John just shot off the last dynamite blast for his now defunct company. Its pretty sad times for them but they are hoping to get back to working together again one day when the economy improves.

Sorry, got off subject. I am supposed to be talking about Torrey's birthday party. I forgot to say that I drove our huge van to Taco Mac for Torrey and about 6 of his friends who met up at our house. With me and Tyler there were at least 8 in our van. I was the designated driver and couldn't even have a Margarita!

Torrey invited all his friends to come to our house after we left Taco Mac and about a dozen of them did. Of course they were partying in the basement where Torrey's room is down there. They had the surround sound from his room turned up wide open until about 3am. It was WILD down there but I never went down there and bothered them. Tyler and I sat up her and tried to keep the dogs calmed down!

Finally sometime about 3am, the music was off and Tyler went down there and knocked on the door of Torrey's room and he and two friends were still there but they had gone to sleep (or passed out). He really enjoyed himself and had a real blowout of a party. I was happy for him that he had a good time but told him not to think that he was going to do that every weekend now that he could buy alcohol legally! NO WAY!! I don't think I slept very much at all. I didn't relax until I found him sleeping upstairs in Tobey's room this morning when I got Tyler up and ready to go to the Center.

Well I survived and so did he, that's about all I can say about it.......other than I am glad its over!!

Lazy Weekend - The Dogs

Its been a boring weekend so all I have to write about tonight is watching my dogs do their thing. Is that pathetic or what?? Oh well its my life and I'll keep it!

These are my 3 furbabies all sitting looking up at me sitting on the couch. They are probably gonna beg for food any minute. When I get that pitiful look, usually that's what they want!

Riley was behind the woodstove and he came out and just FLOPPED down on the living room floor. Mark said "hot weenie dog, he's done"!! We just laughed at him because when he gets really warm he comes out and always flops down loudly on the floor!

Pookie decided she wanted to get in the picture with Riley so she came and sat down next to him! She moved just as I took the picture so her nose looks blurry!

Then she goes over and starts licking his ear and cleaning it out! All three of my furbabies do that to each other!
Well I guess you can tell there wasn't much to blog about this weekend! Even my dogs had a slow weekend and didn't do much of anything special!
Hopefully I can find something interesting to talk about next time.........until then, Chow!

Fall Trees - Almost Gone............

These trees were so much prettier last week and I failed to get a picture of them!! When you "snooze you lose" you know!

This one was so pretty and ORANGE before most of the leaves fell off. Oh well, maybe I will do better next year!

Tomorrow Tyler and I are going to Sam's Club & Aldi grocery shopping...........fun! Fun! Maybe we will see some prettier trees if there are any left and I'll get some new pictures; then I'll come back here and add some more "spectacular" photos!

Rylan In His New Home in Sierra Vista, Arizona

Tobey bought Rylan a Chair/Mat thing today in his favorite design, Disney's Movie CARS. If you look you can see one of the cars I gave him in his hand. I got him several of the cars from the movie before he left. He has become fascinated with that Disney CARS movie and watches it over and over. Tyler let him have his DVD and take it with him to Arizona.

I miss that little bugger so much! When I think about him and how much I miss him I start to tear up and I just can't seem to stop it. I hope this gets easier because they are going to be gone for 10 months. Guess that makes it late next summer before they get stationed somewhere else. I am praying they get to come home for a little bit before they go to their next location.

Tobey and Chris rented a 2 bedroom 1 bath home that looks pretty nice from the pictures she has sent me. Fortunately they found a house with a fenced back yard and a doggie door already installed for the dogs.

They have something called an "Arizona Room"........when I asked what in the world this was, Tobey said its Arizona's equivalent to a Florida Room!
Hopefully she will send more pictures as they get their furniture and stuff moved in and settled in to their new home. I'll post them here when I get some new photos.
