Halloween was a beautiful afternoon; perfect for a race! Temps were probably in mid-70s with a little wind but it was really nice at Sandy Creek Park.
My friend Kayla that I met at the Athens Half Marathon just the Sunday before was also at the Jack O'Lantern Jog. She found me right after the race started, I had been looking for her but didn't see her. I think it thru her off because I had a hair cut and she wasn't sure it was me!
Fortunately my buddy Don McClellan met up with us and took a picture and of course I was talking in the picture!
This was Michael McCool in the orange shirt with myself & Kayla in the background but I put this picture in here too.
Kayla and I finished the race just like we did at the Athens Half. Our time was just over 55 minutes for the 4 miles with a couple of bad HILLS........one has been dubbed as the "dam hill" by our beloved race director Will Chamberlin. The race was fundraiser for the park for a project that Will had been working on before he passed this past April.
We will always miss Will; there will never be another friend and race director like him!
